Zapraszamy na wernisaż wystawy „Guanaquerx – emancypacja technologii” autorstwa Pauli Gaetano Adi. Punktem wyjścia dla projektu jest Guanaquerx, robot inspirowany andyjskim guanako, który staje się narzędziem do refleksji nad relacjami między technologią, ludźmi i istotami nie-ludzkimi.

Wernisaż odbędzie się w języku angielskim. Większość wydarzeń towarzyszących, w tym specjalne oprowadzania kuratorskie, będzie prowadzona w języku polskim.

„Guanaquerx – emancypacja technologii” to wystawa poświęcona artystyczno-technologicznemu projektowi Pauli Gaetano Adi, którego punktem wyjścia jest czworonożny robot inspirowany andyjskim guanako. W 2024 roku Guanaquerx wraz z grupą artystów, inżynierów, rzemieślników i przewodników przemierzył Andy, docierając na wysokość ponad 4500 metrów. Ekspedycja stała się eksperymentem łączącym współczesną robotykę z lokalną wiedzą, rzemiosłem i krajobrazem.
Wystawa zachęca do radykalnego przemyślenia relacji człowieka z technologią, a także do zakwestionowania wizji świata podporządkowanego wyłącznie ludzkim potrzebom. Stawia również pytanie o to, jak projektować wolność, nie reprodukując przy tym logiki niewolnictwa – przenoszenia ciężaru pracy na tych, którzy mają wykonywać ją za nas: roboty, przyrodę, zwierzęta czy innych ludzi.

W Aptece Designu zaprezentowane zostaną materiały dokumentujące projekt i wyprawę Guanaquerxa przez Andy – filmy, eksponaty, materiały badawcze i dokumentacja ekspedycji. Wystawa pozwoli przyjrzeć się procesowi powstawania projektu oraz ideom, które stoją za jego artystyczną i technologiczną warstwą. Projekt łączy robotykę z andyjskimi materiałami, rzemiosłem i wiedzą o miejscu. Pokazuje technologię jako część relacji między ludźmi, innymi istotami i środowiskiem oraz otwiera perspektywę na dekolonizację technologicznego myślenia – odejście od przekonania, że istnieje jeden uniwersalny model rozwoju i innowacji.
„Guanaquerx – emancypacja technologii” nie proponuje gotowej wizji przyszłości. Zamiast tego zachęca do wyobrażenia sobie technologii opartej nie tylko na efektywności i kontroli, lecz także na współzależności, lokalnej wiedzy, trosce i współistnieniu. Projekt „Guanaquerx” powstał przy wsparciu Creative Capital, Hyundai Motor Group oraz Rhode Island School of Design. Laureat nagrody „Golden Nica” w kategorii „Sztuczne życie i inteligencja” podczas festiwalu Prix Ars Electronica 2025.

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Guanaquerx: Technologies of Emancipation” by Paula Gaetano Adi. The starting point for the project is Guanaquerx, a robot inspired by the Andean guanaco, which serves as a tool for reflecting on the relationships between technology, humans, and non-human beings.

The opening will be held in English. Most of the accompanying events, including special curatorial tours, will be conducted in Polish.

“Guanaquerx: Technologies of Emancipation” is an exhibition dedicated to Paula Gaetano Adi’s artistic and technological project, which takes as its starting point a four-legged robot inspired by the Andean guanaco. In 2024, Guanaquerx, accompanied by a group of artists, engineers, artisans, and guides, traversed the Andes, reaching an altitude of over 4,500 meters. The expedition became an experiment combining contemporary robotics with local knowledge, craftsmanship, and the landscape.
The exhibition encourages a radical rethinking of the relationship between humans and technology, as well as a questioning of the vision of a world subordinated exclusively to human needs. It also raises the question of how to design freedom without reproducing the logic of slavery—shifting the burden of labor onto those who are supposed to perform it for us: robots, nature, animals, or other people.

At the Design Pharmacy, materials documenting the Guanaquerx project and expedition through the Andes will be on display—including films, exhibits, research materials, and expedition documentation. The exhibition will offer a glimpse into the project’s development process and the ideas behind its artistic and technological aspects. The project combines robotics with Andean materials, craftsmanship, and local knowledge. It presents technology as part of the relationships between people, other beings, and the environment, and offers a perspective on the decolonization of technological thinking - a departure from the belief that there is a single universal model of development and innovation.
“Guanaquerx: Technologies of Emancipation"” does not propose a ready-made vision of the future. Instead, it encourages us to imagine technology based not only on efficiency and control, but also on interdependence, local knowledge, care, and coexistence. The “Guanaquerx” project was created with support from Creative Capital, Hyundai Motor Group, and the Rhode Island School of Design. Winner of the “Golden Nica” award in the “Artificial Life and Intelligence” category at the 2025 Prix Ars Electronica festival.
