Inspiracją do utworu Gong of the Only Air było pewnego dnia wzmożone poczucie otwarcia drzwi percepcji. Nagle poczułem, że całe pole elektromagnetyczne otaczające ziemię rezonuje z wieloma alikwotami, jakby zostało uderzone jak gong Gde w muzyce gamelanowej. Myśląc wtedy o Teorii Wielkiego Wybuchu i idei, że wszystkie fundamentalne sprawy wywodzą się z jednego, nieustannie eksplodującegoi rozszerzającego się źródła, nagrałem i zaaranżowałem różne retrospekcje, aby symulować lub odtworzyć to uczucie.

Jeff Gburek is an American ex-patriate sound artist (born 1963, Buffalo, New York) currently residing in Poznan, Poland. Inspiration for Gong of the Only Air came from a heightened sense of the opening of the doors of perception one day. It suddenly felt that the entire electro-magnetic field ensheathing the earth was resonant with multiple overtones as if having been struck like the Gong Gde in gamelan music. „Martin Küchen przez znaczną część swojej kariery udowadniał, że improwizacja potrafi pomieścić rozbudowane struktury – od monumentalnych dokonań formacji Angles po współpracę z takimi postaciami jak Phil Minton, Mark Sanders, Burkhard Beins czy Keith Rowe.
Metalowe powierzchnie, perkusja i saksofon współdzielą tę samą przestrzeń oddechu. Niemal słychać, jak Küchen zmaga się z ograniczeniami własnego ciała. To nie jest poddany montażowi obraz gniewu; to gniew, który musi działać poprzez płuca, dłonie, skórę, metal i czas.
To sprawia, że »Chase the Demons Out« – mimo szorstkiej powłoki – okazuje się zaskakująco intymnym nagraniem. 

Martin Küchen has spent much of his career demonstrating that improvisation can accommodate enormous structures, from the expansive work of Angles to his collaborations with figures such as Phil Minton, Mark Sanders, Burkhard Beins and Keith Rowe. The metallic surfaces, drums and saxophone occupy the same breathing space. You can almost hear Küchen negotiating the limits of his own body.
