ICE CLASSIC: Patricia Kopatchinskaja

On 30 August, the Il Giardino Armonico ensemble will play at ICE Krakow, as part of the ICE Classic series in 2022. This Italian ensemble specializing in early music performance will be led by its artistic director and the outstanding conductor Giovanni Antonini. The main focus during the concert will be put on soloist the mesmerizing violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja. The artist is known for her excellent technique, great imagination, and original interpretative ideas - they provoke indignation among purists, and at the same time delight listeners open to fresh and unconventional ideas.

We will hear four virtuoso violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, including The Storm at Sea and The Great Moghul. They will be interspersed with short pieces commissioned by Kopatchinskaja and written by contemporary Italian composers: Aureliano Cattaneo, Stefano Gervasoni, Luca Francesconi, and Simone Movio.
